Postdoctoral researcher – organoid modeling of lung regeneration

About the role

The Dost lab at the University of Copenhagen seeks a motivated postdoctoral researcher to lead a two‑year organoid‑based high‑throughput drug screening project. The work focuses on identifying novel regulators of alveolar regeneration using primary human lung organoid models.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute a phenotypic drug screen with primary human alveolar organoids.
• Set up and run the screen at the StemScreen facility using automated liquid handling and high‑content imaging.
• Mechanistically characterize screening hits to advance understanding of alveolar repair.
• Identify potential therapeutic targets for diseases such as COPD.

Required profile

• PhD (or near completion) in medical or cell biology or a related field.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international research environment.
• Excellent English communication skills and high motivation.
