Prototype Engineering Specialist – 12‑Month Cover

About the role

Coloplast is seeking a Prototype Engineering Specialist to cover a 12‑month period. You will coordinate complex prototype activities that enable product development, usability studies, clinical trials and design verification for medical devices.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate complex prototype activities from early planning through final sample delivery.
• Establish and maintain project‑level prototype traceability linked to manufacturing documentation.
• Build and keep an overview of prototype purpose, quantities, variants, maturity, timing and manufacturing flow.
• Align prototype requesters with internal or external manufacturers.
• Challenge unclear, conflicting or incomplete requirements before they cause delays.
• Coordinate dependencies across components, prototype versions, manufacturing processes, sites and project activities.
• Keep prototype status, decisions, risks and open actions visible to all stakeholders.
• Identify planning, capacity, documentation and delivery risks early and work with the right people to resolve them.
• Help improve processes, templates and working methods for prototype management.

Required profile

• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, life science, pharmaceutics or a related technical discipline.
• Experience coordinating technical activities in product development, manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Ability to turn input from multiple disciplines into a structured, executable plan.
• Comfort working in a central role with many stakeholder interactions.
• Understanding of manufacturing flows and how design, materials, processes and documentation interrelate.
• Confidence handling requirements, dependencies, risks, traceability and shifting priorities.
• Clear communication across functions and professional disciplines.
• Proactive, practical and accountable approach to commitments and deadlines.
• Fluent in English within an international organization.
