Product Engineering Lead – Remote

About the role

Lead the engineering teams building Keet, a peer‑to‑peer messaging and video calling app that runs without servers. You will shape the product direction, translate vision into scalable features, and ensure the platform can grow to a billion users.

Key responsibilities

• Run the API and frontend teams day‑to‑day, removing blockers and keeping delivery on track.
• Set and uphold a high engineering bar for performance, reliability, and clean API design.
• Own technical design of new features and the API surface between Keet’s core and the React app.
• Partner closely with deep‑tech teams for code reviews, design alignment, and integration with the P2P engine.
• Collaborate with product managers to turn roadmap into scoped, buildable work and push back when scope is unrealistic.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing engineers or engineering leads who ship consumer products, preferably in chat, calling, or social apps.
• Strong product sense – able to differentiate valuable features from unnecessary complexity.
• Intuition for distributed, local‑first systems (offline‑first, eventual consistency).
• Initiative, curiosity, resilience and comfort giving/receiving direct critique.

Required skills

• Deep JavaScript expertise.
• Strong React experience.
