Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

Air Apps is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of its AI‑powered platform. This fully onsite position will be based in Lisbon, with support for relocation, and you will work closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, fault‑tolerant systems across cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and ELK.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and incident response workflows.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to improve system design for reliability.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
• Design and maintain load balancing, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and optimize cloud cost and resource utilization.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to address system failures quickly.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or system engineering.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud‑native architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
• Proficiency in Linux system administration, networking fundamentals, and scripting (Bash, Python, or Go).
• Experience with incident management, debugging, and root cause analysis.
