About the role
The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a full‑time postdoctoral researcher to join the "Power over Platforms?" project. The position starts on 15 October 2026 (or as soon as possible) and runs until August 2028.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct empirical mapping of actors seeking to influence platform companies such as Google, Meta, TikTok and X.
- Analyse strategies, contexts and outcomes of platform‑governance interventions across jurisdictions.
- Combine qualitative fieldwork, digital methods and comparative institutional analysis to generate findings.
- Contribute to project publications, reports and conference presentations.
Required profile
- PhD in digital media, communications, political science, sociology or a related field.
- Strong background in platform studies, especially governance and civil‑society engagement.
- Experience with empirical research on content moderation, privacy, data protection or generative AI.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
