About the role

This three‑year full‑time internship offers recent veterinary graduates the chance to work in a dynamic university hospital environment, handling acute cases around the clock while rotating through surgery, internal medicine and specialised departments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emergency and acute care for a wide range of family animals, including night and weekend shifts.
• Participate in journal clubs, workshops, morbidity & mortality rounds and other educational activities.
• Rotate through general surgery, general medicine and optionally internal medicine departments.
• Collaborate with specialist units such as neurology, oncology, cardiology, anaesthesia and imaging.
• Teach and supervise veterinary students and veterinary nursing trainees during their clinical training.

Required profile

• Licensed Danish veterinary practitioner.
• Highly motivated, ambitious and willing to invest extra time in personal and professional development.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, able to adapt to rapidly changing case loads.
• Flexibility to cover day, evening and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Clinical competence in emergency veterinary care.
• Basic surgical and medical knowledge applicable to small‑animal practice.
