Senior Technology Lead LNG

About the role

Maersk is seeking a Senior Technology Lead LNG to shape the future of its methane‑powered fleet. The role combines hands‑on operational expertise with detailed design knowledge to bring new‑build vessels from yard to water.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design review, commissioning and operation of methane‑fuelled vessels, ensuring reliable service from detailed design to sea trials.
• Challenge shipyards and OEMs on engine, fuel gas supply system (FGSS), tank and gas‑handling design to close gaps before delivery.
• Conduct hands‑on commissioning, gas‑up, cooldown and sea‑trial activities for first‑of‑class vessels.
• Collaborate globally with internal teams, shipyards, class societies and external partners to maintain operational excellence.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex methane system and machinery issues, providing practical solutions and mentorship on‑site and remotely.

Required profile

• Significant sea‑going or shore‑based operational experience on methane‑fuelled vessels.
• Deep understanding of detailed design of LNG engines, fuel gas supply, tanks and gas‑handling systems.
• Proven track record of taking vessels from yard through commissioning, gas trials and delivery.
• Self‑motivated, safety‑focused and able to work in cross‑functional, global teams.
