About the role
Coloplast’s Master Thesis Program offers final‑year mechanical engineering students the chance to conduct a research project on sealing performance in medical devices. The student will join the Simulation Team in the R&D Center of Excellence, working on virtual prototyping and modelling of contact conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate simulation models to assess seals between hard and soft materials.
- Systematically investigate parameters such as minimum overlap, contact area and sealing pressure to identify critical design criteria.
Required profile
- Current master’s student in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience with Finite Element Methods (e.g., relevant university courses).
- Knowledge of material strength concepts (e.g., Strength of Materials II).
Required skills
- Finite Element Method proficiency.
- Programming in Matlab, Fortran or Python.
