Master Thesis: Multi‑Functional Polymer Test Specimen

About the role

Coloplast’s Master Thesis Program offers a unique opportunity for a final‑year master student to work on a real‑world research project within the R&D Center of Excellence. The project focuses on developing a multi‑functional, injection‑molded polymer test specimen that can be used for several mechanical load cases, supporting more reliable simulation of medical‑device polymers.

Key responsibilities

• Design specimen concepts using mechanical design principles and finite‑element analysis.
• Prototype selected concepts, conduct mechanical testing, and evaluate experimental results.
• Generate unified testing methodology and provide data for calibration and validation of constitutive material and interface models.

Required profile

• Current master student in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Completed coursework equivalent to Strength of Materials II.
• Programming experience with Matlab, Fortran or Python.
