Global Public Affairs Intern – Sub-Saharan Africa

About the role

Join Maersk’s Global Public Affairs team as an intern supporting the Chief Group Representative for Sub‑Saharan Africa. You will help analyse political and economic trends that affect international trade and logistics in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct desk research and political analysis on regulatory, economic and geopolitical developments across Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Prepare briefings, talking points and background materials for senior leadership engagements.
• Support planning and coordination of high‑level meetings with African government stakeholders and partners.
• Assist in developing regional engagement strategies and stakeholder mapping.
• Handle various administrative tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s or final‑year bachelor’s student in business, political science, international relations or a related field at a Danish university.
• Strong analytical and research skills with ability to translate complex political developments into clear business insights.
• Interest or academic focus on Africa, emerging markets or international development is an advantage.
• Fluent in English with a strong international outlook.

• Proficiency in PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in Excel.
