Verification and Validation Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Rail Denmark is looking for a Verification and Validation Engineer in Copenhagen. The specialist works with the Verification and Validation team to prepare, carry out and report the V&V activities to the Head of RAMS & Validation. The role focuses on the F-bane project, which delivers railway designs for specific rollout lines in western Denmark.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and validate that the F-bane project meets contractual and internal requirements during development, design and delivery to the customer.
• Carry out V&V activities such as validating signalling layouts, hardware configuration, drawings and templates.
• Take part in V&V inspections across project phases, focusing on tests carried out in Denmark and Germany.
• Report and evaluate non-compliances and produce V&V reports.
• Work with internal teams, the customer, partners and suppliers to optimise processes.
• Occasional travel within Denmark and Germany for commissioning, testing and stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• Quality-oriented, delivering timely and accurate V&V tasks with high-quality documentation.
• Ability to review technical documentation critically and independently.
• Team player with good communication skills and proactive approach.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Danish or German is an advantage.
• Railway experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of railway terms and infrastructure elements.
• Understanding of signalling systems and processes.
• Advantageous: Railway industry V&V experience.
• Advantageous: requirement, configuration and defect management, system engineering principles, and CENELEC standards 50126, 50128, EN 50716, 50129.
