Two-year Postdoc in Experimental Psycholinguistics & Computational Language Modelling

About the role

The Department of Nordic Studies and Linguistics invites a postdoctoral researcher to join the Centre for Language Technology. The fellowship focuses on experimental psycholinguistics and computational language modelling within the METALLM project, which investigates metaphor processing in humans and large language models.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct reading and eye‑tracking experiments on metaphor comprehension.
• Analyse behavioural data and compare it with the performance of large language models.
• Develop computational models that capture cognitive aspects of metaphor processing.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in linguistics, cognitive science, and computer science.
• Contribute to scientific publications and present findings at conferences.

Required profile

• PhD in psycholinguistics, cognitive science, computational linguistics or a related field.
• Strong background in experimental design and data analysis.
• Experience with eye‑tracking methodology is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary research group.
