Senior Development Manager T&I Engineering

About the role

Vattenfall is looking for a Senior Development Manager Transport & Installation Engineering to join the Transportation & Installation Engineering team within its Business Area Wind, Offshore, Project Delivery & Engineering. The role represents the Project Execution organization and mainly supports offshore wind projects in their development stage, leading Transport and Installation concepts across all installation packages as support to the Technical Project Managers. The location is listed as Amsterdam, Kolding or Hamburg.

Key responsibilities

• Create the most suitable T&I set-up for development projects, including the associated CAPEX budget and required documentation, from early development (TG0) until handover to the project execution team (TG2).
• Lead block development and maintenance for future potential, using an automated approach to reduce reaction time in a fast-changing market.
• Proactively discuss new methodologies with suppliers to keep the pipeline of offshore wind projects moving.
• Actively drive interfaces between the department and its stakeholders and support a collaborative environment where technical and resource issues are solved quickly.
• Support Installation Engineers in execution, O&M or decommissioning projects with expertise in methodologies, lessons learned and concepts for cost-efficient execution.

Required profile

• Engineering degree and experience in offshore Transport and Installation, preferably across multiple disciplines (foundation, cables, WTGs, hydrogen).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in highly regulated industries such as offshore, renewables, oil and gas or chemicals.
• Essential experience executing Transport and Installation projects for TSOs or similar, covering target setting, development planning, risk quantification and budget impact.
• Offshore installation contractor experience highly appreciated; substation and cable installation experience is a key asset.
• Strong technical understanding, with the ability to resolve detailed issues and explain complex technical matters and risk costing clearly.

Required skills

• Knowledge of offshore installation vessels, tools and methodologies, and relevant offshore codes and standards is an advantage.
• Experience with offshore wind T&I methodologies focusing on the transmission scope is preferred.
• Ability to manage several tasks to challenging deadlines while staying flexible and proactive.
