Postdoctoral Fellow – Stochastic Models of Morphology Evolution

About the role

The Department of Computer Science invites applications for a 24‑month postdoctoral fellowship focused on stochastic models of morphology evolution within the morphAI project. The role combines research, limited teaching and collaboration with a world‑leading team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on stochastic models in infinite‑dimensional spaces and shape analysis.
• Develop and implement numerical algorithms and open‑source software packages.
• Bridge theoretical mathematical descriptions of shape with computational implementations.
• Participate in limited teaching activities and collaborate with project participants.

Required profile

• PhD in mathematics, statistics, computer science or a related field.
• Strong publication record in top journals or conferences.
• Demonstrated theoretical contributions and experience in computer implementation of numerical algorithms.
• Creative, solution‑oriented, able to work independently and in research teams.

Required skills

• Stochastic modeling in infinite‑dimensional non‑linear spaces.
• Wasserstein geometry for probability distributions.
• Numerical algorithm implementation for shape analysis.

What we offer

• World‑leading research group on morphological variation.
• Dynamic and international research environment.
