Head of Finance

About the role

Join APM Terminals Aarhus as the Head of Finance, leading the terminal’s finance function and linking financial performance with operational and strategic decisions. This office‑based senior role works closely with the Terminal Managing Director and senior management team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance across accounting, control, risk, planning, performance management and corporate governance.
• Act as strategic business partner to the Terminal Managing Director and senior management.
• Drive financial planning, analysis, investment evaluation and data‑based decision support.
• Maintain accurate, timely, compliant financial information and a robust risk‑based control framework.
• Lead finance process improvements, system changes and business intelligence initiatives.
• Oversee procurement and legal matters while coaching and developing the finance team.

Required profile

• Continuous‑improvement mindset with curiosity about work processes.
• Strong leadership qualities, customer focus and integrity.
• Extensive experience in financial business partnering, controlling or FP&A at business‑unit or group level.
• Ability to translate budgeting, reporting, accounting and investment analysis into practical business insight.
• Strategic perspective combined with hands‑on approach and interest in terminal operations.

Required skills

• Expertise in budgeting, financial reporting and accounting.
• Proficiency in investment analysis and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of risk management, fraud prevention, tax, treasury and insurance.
