Finance Director, Fish

About the role

JBT Marel is looking for a commercially minded, internationally experienced Finance Director (Fish) to partner with its Fish leadership team and drive performance across a complex, fast-evolving business. The role leads a team of experienced finance professionals spread across several countries and is based in Denmark (Støvring) or Iceland (Garðabær). It owns and drives the divisional financial strategy, planning and operations, supports strategic decision-making and helps shape the integration journey of JBT Marel.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic planning: work with leadership on growth strategies aligned with divisional and corporate objectives, monitor industry trends and set short- and long-term metrics.
• Financial planning and analysis: lead the business budgeting process, prepare forecasts, manage monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, maintain SOX compliance and run balance sheet and income variance analysis.
• Business partnering: support pricing and competitive analysis, profitability analysis by customer, product and project, and recommend cost improvements and synergy targets.
• Capital expenditure and asset management: evaluate investment proposals, prepare business cases and monitor approved projects against budget, payback and ROI.
• People management: lead, develop and mentor a high-impact finance team.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years in a finance and accounting role, with at least 5 years in people management, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Deep familiarity with financial accounting (US GAAP), modelling and analysis, and full understanding of P&L, cash flow and balance sheet implications.
• Strong project accounting or revenue recognition (percentage of completion) experience; knowledge of SAP is a plus.
• CPA/CFA a plus; MBA an asset.
• Willingness to travel mainly within the region as needed.
