Technical Project Manager – Shipbuilding & Retrofit

About the role

Rohde Nielsen is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead newbuilding, retrofit and conversion projects for its specialized vessel fleet. Based in Copenhagen, you will work in an international maritime environment, coordinating closely with shipyards and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle from concept through delivery for newbuildings, retrofits and conversions.
• Act as the primary contact for shipyards, overseeing inspections, supervision and ongoing follow‑up worldwide.
• Collaborate with Marine Projects, technical and commercial departments to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
• Review and approve technical drawings, documentation and procedures, ensuring compliance with standards and contractual obligations.
• Prepare technical manuals, procedures and supporting documentation, and provide technical support to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant technical education such as Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a similar field.
• Proven experience with shipyards or marine projects, including newbuildings, retrofits and conversions.
• Strong understanding of ship design, systems and construction principles.
• Fluent English and valid permission to work in Europe.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and organisational skills, with a willingness to travel extensively.
