Student Assistant, IT Security

About the role

Netcompany is looking for a student to join its Operations team and its dedicated security team in Copenhagen. Working approximately 16 hours per week, you will help define the guidelines that let operations carry out their security-related tasks, and act as a trusted advisor to delivery and project teams on how to handle security issues. The role suits students in the final year of a bachelor's degree or those who have started a master's degree.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate patterns and implement alerts and visualisations in the SIEM so that suspicious events are detected.
• Respond to and follow up on alerts from the SIEM and EDR solutions, adjusting them to improve accuracy.
• Configure integrations between the SIEM and other systems and environments, including cloud and containers.
• Configure and monitor the IDS/IPS solutions.
• Help identify improvements to monitoring of servers and applications, optimise detection mechanisms and responses, and advise colleagues on alerts.

Required profile

• Final-year bachelor's student or someone who has started a master's degree in engineering, computer science, software, IT or a similar field.
• Full professional proficiency in Danish or English (written and spoken).
• Ability to obtain PET security clearance.
• Availability of about 16 hours per week; flexibility during exam periods, with presence expected before project deadlines and other key milestones.

Required skills

• Experience with both Windows and Linux.
• Knowledge of SIEM or EDR solutions.
