Postdoctoral Researcher in Theoretical and Experimental Microeconomics

About the role

The Department of Economics at the University of Copenhagen seeks a postdoctoral researcher to join the Microeconomics Research Unit and the Copenhagen Center for Social Data Science. The role focuses on the project “DeceptionWeb: Foundations for Emergent Deception in Human‑AI Interaction,” integrating theoretical microeconomics, experimental economics, and behavioral psychology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic communication models that capture human‑AI interaction dynamics.
• Co‑design and conduct controlled experiments with human participants.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members from Computer Science, Psychology, and Economics.
• Potentially contribute to student teaching and supervision, as negotiated.

Required profile

• PhD in Economics or a closely related discipline.
• Strong publication record and relevant research experience.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Background in theoretical microeconomics (games with incomplete information, decision‑making under uncertainty) and experimental/behavioral economics.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract of 1 year 9 months to 2 years, starting October 1 2026 (or later).
• Salary starting at DKK 39,000 per month with pension contributions and possible annual supplements.
