PhD Fellowship in Research Integrity

About the role

The Department of Food and Resource Economics at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a PhD fellowship focused on research integrity. The fellow will investigate non‑financial conflicts of interest in research, exploring how such declarations are used by readers, journals and the broader scientific community.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct empirical studies using qualitative and/or quantitative social‑science methods.
• Analyse how non‑financial conflicts of interest are disclosed and perceived in scientific publications and media.
• Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary colleagues in the Section for Consumption, Bioethics and Governance.
• Present findings at conferences and contribute to peer‑reviewed publications.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in sociology, anthropology, philosophy or a related discipline.
• Documented training and experience in social‑science research methods (qualitative and/or quantitative).
• Interest in research integrity, ethics of science and conflict‑of‑interest issues.
• Ability to develop a research proposal and work independently.
