Tenure‑Track Professor in Food Processing & Technology

About the role

The Department of Food Science at the University of Copenhagen seeks a tenure‑track faculty member at the assistant, associate or full professor level in Food Processing & Technology. The successful candidate will lead high‑impact interdisciplinary research and contribute to teaching in both English and Danish.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead an internationally competitive research programme on food macromolecular interactions, processing, and formulation.
• Collaborate extensively with national and international academic groups and industrial partners.
• Secure research funding and publish results in top‑tier journals.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in food science, with an expectation to teach in Danish within 3‑6 years.
• Supervise PhD and master students and contribute to curriculum development.

Required profile

• PhD in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated track record of high‑quality basic and applied research.
• Documented experience in industry collaboration.
• Ability to work in an international, bilingual environment.

Required skills

• Mechanistic understanding of food macromolecule interactions.
• Experience with high‑throughput characterization methods.
• Modelling and machine‑learning/AI for process simulation.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics and complex emulsion formulation.
