About the role

The Navy Weapons Center (VBC) is seeking a Deputy Commander for its Training Section. This senior position supports the planning, execution and development of training programmes focused on weapons, drones and related technologies for naval units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate training activities for artillery, missile and drone systems.
• Develop and implement training concepts in collaboration with industry and academic partners.
• Oversee the operation of airborne, surface and underwater drones during exercises.
• Manage technical support teams (Sea Riders) during operational ramp‑up phases.
• Ensure training meets the evolving security‑political requirements and future expansion plans.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in military training or weapons systems.
• Strong leadership and service‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work flexibly with naval units and external partners.
• Commitment to high professional standards and safety.
