Global Public Affairs Intern – European & Nordic Policy

About the role

Maersk is looking for a Global Public Affairs intern within its Europe team, with a focus on the Nordic countries. The intern works on live political issues alongside colleagues who advise senior management and engage with governments, authorities and industry organisations. The internship is full time (37 hours per week) at Maersk's Copenhagen headquarters from January until June/July 2027, with flexibility for scheduling conflicts and university credit transfer.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse political and legislative developments in the EU, Denmark, Sweden and the wider Nordic region, and assess their implications for Maersk's business.
• Prepare briefs and background material for senior executives ahead of meetings with ministers, officials and other stakeholders.
• Conduct desk research and analysis on topics such as societal security and preparedness, critical infrastructure, supply chain resilience and trade policy.
• Contribute to positions and consultation responses on policy issues.
• Support the planning of stakeholder meetings, delegation visits, seminars and other external engagements.
• Take on a defined project of your own, delivering it from start to finish.

Required profile

• Student pursuing a master's degree or in the final year of a bachelor's degree in political science, economics, business or another relevant field at a Danish university based in Copenhagen.
• Ability to turn political and business issues into clear, concise analysis and written material.
• Structured approach with strong attention to detail, even under tight deadlines, and ownership of tasks.
• Professional level Danish or Swedish, fluency in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
