Global Public Affairs Intern (Spring Semester 2027)

About the role

Maersk is looking for a Global Public Affairs intern for its Copenhagen headquarters, working from February to July (full time, 37 hours per week). The role sits at the intersection of Maersk's business strategy, geopolitics, policy-shaping and sustainability, and supports the company on political issues with a global responsibility. It suits students in business, political science, economics or international relations who want to apply their knowledge to real-world global challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out rigorous desk research and analysis to inform strategic decisions and policy advocacy across the business
• Develop and run engagement strategies for top leadership at key global forums such as COPs, WEF meetings and regional Climate Weeks
• Plan and coordinate high-level political visits to headquarters, including logistics, agendas and briefings for senior management
• Analyse how political shifts and legislative changes affect international trade and Maersk's strategy
• Support the drafting of positions and engagement plans on political topics
• Take on ad hoc tasks and special projects with autonomy

Required profile

• Student in the final year of a bachelor's degree or pursuing a master's degree in business, political science, economics, international relations or a related field
• Interest in political, regulatory and strategic issues with a global scope
• Ability to synthesise complex political and business concepts, with analytical and organisational skills
• Fluency in English and an international perspective

Required skills

• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
• Strong attention to detail and a structured, organised approach
