Cost Manager - Data Centre Construction

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company active in real estate, infrastructure and natural resources, is looking for an experienced Cost Manager (CSA) for data centre construction projects. The role covers both pre-contract and post-contract cost work, from estimates and tendering to final accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, procurement and tendering, contract administration, variations and final accounts
• Carry out feasibility studies and write procurement reports
• Produce and present the final cost plan, including estimating and cost planning
• Manage tendering and procurement: pre-qualification, tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report and contractual documents
• Carry out timely and accurate cost checks and valuations
• Produce monthly post-contract cost reports for the client
• Interface with the client and other consultants at every project stage
• Take part in post-contract cost variances and change control, perform cost risk analysis, support value engineering and negotiate and approve final accounts
• Maintain central feedback on cost estimating and help update best practices

Required profile

• Technical knowledge of data centres or other related facility asset types
• Experience in CSA construction, industrial, pharma, manufacturing and/or mission critical sectors
• Proven cost and/or commercial management experience, ideally in a consultancy environment
• Strong listening and communication skills, good organisation and ability to multi-task

Required skills

• Good knowledge of construction and procurement methods
• Experience using, or managing a team that uses, multiple estimating tools and applications
• Strong experience with spreadsheets and databases
