Senior Wind Turbine Foundation Installation Engineer – Offshore Wind

About the role

Vattenfall's BA Wind develops, builds and operates onshore and offshore wind power, as well as solar and batteries. Within the Project Delivery & Engineering department, the Transportation & Installation Engineering team delivers foundation installation methodologies for offshore wind projects across northern Europe. This position is internally listed as Senior Installation Engineer, so the contract title may differ from the advertised one.

Key responsibilities

• Provide offshore turbine foundation installation engineering expertise to offshore wind development projects and deliver key engineering assignments.
• Be accountable for individual projects in delivery phases, supporting the Installation Manager in delivering the Foundation Installation package across the BU Offshore portfolio.
• Handle project-specific engineering tasks in the development phase to understand and mitigate engineering risks.
• Support Operations and Maintenance with engineering skills for major wind farm replacement and maintenance campaigns.
• Lead HSE in the design and specification of offshore foundation installation methodologies.
• Own development work packages and help grow the Transportation & Installation Engineering team.
• Help develop project engineering competences in the Technical Authority community and build your own project management and offshore installation methodology skills.

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of project engineering experience in an offshore foundation installation context.
• Fluent English and strong intercultural awareness, willing to work across borders.
• Good stakeholder management and interpersonal skills in a diverse, disciplinary environment.
• Enthusiasm for digitalization and self-motivation to apply it in the wind industry.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of offshore installation equipment and systems.
• Strong commercial and project management mindset, able to balance technical, commercial and consenting imperatives.
• Good knowledge of the wind energy market; experience with offshore transmission system installation is an asset.
