Authorized Person – Electrical Safety & LOTO Specialist

About the role

Mercury is seeking an Authorised Person to oversee electrical safety on complex construction projects in Copenhagen. The role ensures compliance with Mercury’s safety procedures, permits, and lock‑out/tag‑out systems while supporting the commissioning of LV and MV installations.

Key responsibilities

• Apply and enforce Mercury SOPs, including Control of Hazardous Energies (COHE) and Operating & Energisation procedures for LV & MV systems.
• Manage Permit to Work and Lock‑Out Tag‑Out processes, ensuring safe switching, isolation and energisation during commissioning.
• Review and approve subcontractor Electrical RAMS and COHE documentation.
• Maintain and audit electrical safe systems of work (ESSOW) and ensure correct use of electrical PPE.
• Report electrical incidents via SAP and Energy Marshall, and secure hazardous areas under permit control.
• Assist senior authorised persons with internal audits such as Self‑Assessment COHE and temporary electrics inspections.
• Authorize energisation and isolation requests once all criteria are met for the designated voltage range.

Required profile

• Qualified electrician holding a National Craft Certificate or equivalent qualification in the jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated experience with electrical safety procedures on construction sites.
• Ability to complete mandatory training and pass a colour‑vision test.
