About the role
The Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN) seeks a specialist to develop sector‑specific gender mainstreaming guidelines for digitalization. This short‑term consultancy will support CTCN’s 2023‑2027 programme by ensuring gender considerations are embedded in digital climate solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive review of existing gender‑related policies, frameworks and high‑quality guidelines relevant to digitalization.
- Perform a gender analysis of digitalization applications across climate‑relevant areas such as AI, remote sensing, digital finance, e‑agriculture and smart grids.
- Develop clear, sector‑specific gender mainstreaming guidelines for digitalization.
- Disseminate the guidelines to CTCN implementing partners and provide guidance on integration into technical assistance projects.
- Report progress and findings to the CTCN Director or designated senior staff.
Required profile
- Proven expertise in gender mainstreaming, preferably within UN or international development contexts.
- Strong knowledge of digitalization as an enabler for climate‑resilient development and familiarity with related policy instruments (e.g., UNFCCC Gender Action Plan, World Bank digital gender guides, ITU‑UN Women frameworks).
- Experience conducting policy reviews and gender analyses across multiple technology domains.
- Ability to produce concise, actionable guidelines for diverse stakeholder audiences.
