Tenure‑track Assistant/Associate Professor in De Novo Protein Design

About the role

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Design (CPD) at the University of Copenhagen is seeking two tenure‑track faculty members at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to lead independent research groups in de novo protein design. The positions are linked to either the Department of Biology (Faculty of Science) or the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology (Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences).

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a research program in computational and/or experimental de novo protein design.
• Secure external funding and build collaborations within the CPD and external partners.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to protein design and engineering.
• Mentor PhD students, post‑docs, and junior researchers.
• Contribute to the interdisciplinary activities and community engagement of the Center.

Required profile

• Strong track record in de novo protein design, either computational, experimental, or both.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain research funding and publish high‑impact work.
• Commitment to collaborative, interdisciplinary research and teaching.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
