Student Assistant – Electronics Development

About the role

Alfa Laval R&D Decanters is looking for a motivated student assistant to help expand technological knowledge and influence the future development of decanters. You will work closely with a senior engineer in R&D on a variety of electronics projects.

Key responsibilities

• Concept development of custom electronics and selection of new components.
• Design digital and analog PCBs using schematics, layout, and Altium Designer.
• Program microcontrollers such as ESP32 and Raspberry Pi running Linux.
• Hardware bring‑up, debugging, soldering, reworking and probing.
• Develop ideas, calculations, tests and simulations for electronic solutions.
• Execute validation tests on custom PCBs using oscilloscopes, data loggers and other measurement tools.

Required profile

• Open, informal communicator who enjoys teamwork across engineering fields.
• Systematic approach to work and interest in PCB innovation.
• Student of electrical or mechatronic engineering with a strong theoretical background.
• Hands‑on experience with electronics and custom PCB design.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Altium Designer for PCB design.
• Microcontroller programming (ESP32, Raspberry Pi, Linux).
• Soldering, reworking and probing hardware.
• Use of oscilloscopes and data loggers for testing.
• Design of digital and analog schematics and layouts.
