Software Engineer, AI & Data

About the role

Maersk is looking for a Software Engineer, AI & Data in Copenhagen. You will design, build and scale data and AI-driven applications that power key business capabilities, working at the intersection of data engineering, platform development and agentic AI, from data pipelines to intelligent applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build AI-powered and agentic AI applications using modern frameworks and enterprise AI platforms
• Develop intelligent workflows with AI agents to automate business processes and decision-making
• Build scalable data pipelines and data products, and enable self-service data access and reporting
• Develop scalable, secure backend services and APIs, following CI/CD, DevOps, testing and observability practices
• Work with Product, Data, Platform and AI teams, contribute to architecture discussions and support integrations across SAP and non-SAP ecosystems
• Keep solutions reliable, scalable and production-ready, and drive automation and observability

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related science/engineering discipline
• 2-5 years of experience in software or data engineering
• Strong software engineering experience focused on backend, data or platform development
• Hands-on experience building AI/ML or agentic AI applications
• Solid understanding of data engineering, data pipelines and analytics use cases

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java or similar languages
• SQL and basic data pipelines / ETL processes
• APIs, microservices and backend development
• Cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and DevOps practices
• Basic knowledge of AI/ML or interest in AI-driven solutions
