Senior Mechanical Engineer - Data Centre Construction

About the role

A leading contractor, experts in delivering mission-critical projects, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its expanding team in Denmark. The position is site-based with rotation, and the package includes a permanent salaried post, allowance, accommodation and flights.

Key responsibilities

• Review mechanical designs to find gaps, deviations or contradictions in specifications and IFC drawings, and generate RFIs to resolve ambiguities
• Validate equipment sizing (ductwork, pipework etc.) and recommend improvements
• Manage submittals through approval, track procurement and delivery of equipment and verify receipts
• Carry out mechanical system walk-downs to check compliance with specifications, drawings and the Integrated Management System
• Co-ordinate mechanical services with other disciplines and the project BIM team, and advise subcontracted staff on technical matters
• Ensure subcontractors comply with site and project requirements, including health and safety obligations
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments, coordinate installation sequencing and apply troubleshooting techniques
• Manage document control so all logs stay up to date

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering; a trade qualification is an advantage
• 5-8+ years of experience in a similar role within mechanical and electrical contracting
• Knowledge of mechanical systems in data centre environments
• Good communication skills and ability to maintain good relationships with other contractors on site
