About the role

This Master Thesis Project offers a unique chance to combine academic research with hands‑on experience at a global medical‑device company. You will investigate how artificial intelligence can turn historical regulatory interactions into a searchable knowledge resource, supporting Regulatory Affairs teams.

Key responsibilities

• Explore AI technologies to identify similar historical authority questions and retrieve relevant precedents.
• Develop draft response strategies based on previously successful submissions.
• Evaluate AI‑powered search, retrieval‑based knowledge systems, large language models, and human‑in‑the‑loop processes.
• Address implementation considerations such as data quality, governance, confidentiality, compliance, and user adoption.
• Deliver a proof‑of‑concept tool together with a practical framework and implementation roadmap.

Required profile

• Study background in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business Analytics, Digital Innovation or Knowledge Management.
• Strong interest in AI, emerging technologies and healthcare regulations.
• Experience with data analysis, information retrieval or knowledge‑management concepts.
• Analytical and problem‑solving mindset with curiosity about digital transformation.
