Postdoctoral Researcher in Nutrition, Metabolism and Type 2 Diabetes

About the role

The Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports (NEXS) at the University of Copenhagen seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the ON LiMiT study, a large multicentre randomised controlled trial investigating lifestyle interventions for type 2 diabetes remission.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support participant recruitment, screening, enrolment and follow‑up.
• Conduct clinical study visits, metabolic phenotyping, venous cannulation, blood collection, sample processing and biobanking.
• Perform Oral Glucose Tolerance Tests (OGTT) and indirect calorimetry to assess resting energy expenditure and substrate oxidation.
• Assist with anthropometry, body‑composition assessments and other physiological measurements.
• Provide individual and group‑based dietary counselling, develop educational materials and monitor dietary adherence.
• Ensure high‑quality data collection in line with study protocols, GCP principles and ethical guidelines.

Required profile

• PhD in nutrition, metabolism, clinical research or a related field.
• Experience in human clinical trials and metabolic phenotyping.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
