Postdoctoral researcher – Cardiometabolic (Electro‑)Physiology (2 positions)

About the role
The Lubberding group at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, seeks two highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to lead translational projects on ion channels in cardiometabolic physiology. The appointments start on 16 November 2026 (or shortly after) and are offered for 1‑year and 2‑year fixed‑term contracts.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse large human datasets related to cardiometabolic health.
- Prepare and conduct a small clinical trial, including participant recruitment.
- Perform in‑vitro cell and ex‑vivo islet experiments, hormone‑secretion assays and live‑cell imaging.
- Isolate murine islets and carry out in‑vivo experiments.
- Conduct electrophysiology studies (patch‑clamp) on ion channels.
- Execute functional drug‑screening assays.
- Collaborate across wet‑lab, clinical data and bio‑informatics teams to elucidate ion‑channel roles.
Required profile
- PhD in physiology, molecular biology, pharmacology, biomedical sciences or a related field.
- Strong motivation to lead independent research projects.
- Experience with ion‑channel or cardiometabolic research is preferred.
- Ability to work in an international, collaborative environment.
- Willingness to engage in teaching activities within physiology, molecular biology or pharmacology.
