OHS Program Manager – Microsoft Quantum Laboratory

About the role

SGS is looking for an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Program Manager to work on site at Microsoft Quantum in Lyngby. The role supports a fast-moving research and development environment across cleanrooms, laboratories and workshops, in close partnership with engineers, technicians, site stakeholders and specialist vendors. It is a practical, visible position where OHS acts as an enabling function, helping teams understand risk, choose effective controls and move development forward safely and responsibly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day OHS support for Microsoft Quantum laboratory operations, including cleanrooms, technical laboratories, workshops and associated support activities.
• Partner with technical teams to identify hazards, assess risk and develop proportionate controls for new and changing equipment, materials, processes and work activities.
• Prepare, review and maintain risk assessments, safe work procedures, job hazard analyses and other OHS documentation.
• Support chemical safety activities, including new chemical reviews, safe handling and storage, waste considerations, exposure controls and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate and deliver OHS onboarding, laboratory safety induction and task-relevant training for employees, contingent staff, visitors and vendors.
• Support incident, near-miss and safety-observation reporting, investigation, corrective actions and learning.
• Take part in workplace assessments, inspections and laboratory-readiness reviews, tracking actions to closure.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, facilities partners, service providers and external authorities.
• Maintain clear records, dashboards and task visibility, and use digital tools with appropriate security and confidentiality practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific, engineering or technical discipline.
• Relevant experience applying OHS principles in a laboratory or technical environment, or a laboratory role with substantial safety responsibilities.
• Practical experience in a laboratory, cleanroom, semiconductor development, analytical laboratory or comparable technical R&D environment; other high-technology or industrial laboratory experience also considered.
• Working knowledge of risk assessment, incident prevention, safe systems of work and practical OHS implementation.
• Professional communication skills in English; professional proficiency in Danish is mandatory.
• Ability and willingness to work regularly in cleanroom, laboratory and workshop environments.

Preferred qualifications

• EHS/OHS, occupational health, safety engineering, industrial hygiene or related education or certification.
• Experience supporting semiconductor, cleanroom, advanced materials, chemistry, cryogenic, gas or other complex laboratory activities.
• Experience in a large, matrixed organization or coordinating contractors and vendors in a technical workplace.
• Familiarity with Danish and EU OHS and chemical-management requirements.
