Network Engineer - Network Architecture & Engineering

About the role

Maersk's Network Architecture & Engineering team designs, engineers and evolves its global network and perimeter services. As a Network Engineer you will help deliver scalable, secure, reliable and supportable network solutions across offices, warehouses, terminals and depots worldwide, working alongside senior engineers and architects. The role covers enterprise LAN, WLAN, WAN and SD-WAN services, migrations, service improvements, engineering standards and network automation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve enterprise LAN, WLAN, WAN and SD-WAN solutions aligned with approved architectures and standards.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation such as designs, implementation and test plans, rollback procedures and runbooks.
• Configure, deploy, troubleshoot and optimise Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco Meraki SD-WAN and Fortinet Secure SD-WAN solutions.
• Support campus networking and wireless deployments, including routing, switching, segmentation, authentication, performance tuning and roaming.
• Develop reusable configuration templates, validation processes and deployment standards.
• Contribute to automation initiatives using Python, Ansible, APIs, model-driven interfaces and Git-based workflows.
• Investigate incidents and performance issues using telemetry, monitoring platforms, packet captures and logs, and support root-cause analysis and operational handover.

Required profile

• 4+ years of practical enterprise networking experience in a large enterprise, systems integrator or service provider environment.
• Experience implementing or supporting enterprise SD-WAN platforms.
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, Cisco Meraki, Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, HPE Aruba Networking, Juniper Mist or Extreme Networks.
• Working knowledge of network security and automation, including firewalls, 802.1X, Zero Trust, Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Git and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant professional certification such as CCNP Enterprise, Cisco DevNet, Fortinet Certified Professional, JNCIP Enterprise or Aruba professional certification.
