Material & Compliance Specialist

About the role

Vikan A/S, a global supplier of hygienic cleaning tools for the food and beverage industry, is recruiting a Material & Compliance Specialist in Skive. Reporting to the Group Technical Manager, you will ensure that the materials used in Vikan's products meet high quality standards and are documented in line with applicable legislation. You will build deep knowledge of materials, food contact, product and packaging compliance and customer sustainability requirements, and act as a subject matter expert for Product Management, Product Development, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales, as well as suppliers, customers and external test institutes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess developments in food legislation, with a focus on EU and FDA requirements and other relevant jurisdictions, to ensure continuous compliance.
• Maintain and develop documentation for raw materials and other aspects of food contact compliance.
• Work with raw material suppliers so that the required technical documentation is available and up to date.
• Coordinate migration analyses with external laboratories, assess, calculate and communicate the results.
• Maintain and develop Declarations of Compliance and other documentation in Perfion.
• Advise the internal sales organisation, customers and other stakeholders on regulatory requirements for products.
• Contribute materials and compliance expertise to product development projects and take part in the development, testing and launch of new products.
• Influence the use of more sustainable materials and help introduce new raw materials.
• Set up and drive an LCA setup and work with ESG data at product level.

Required profile

• Strong educational background in chemistry.
• At least four years of relevant professional experience.
• Solid experience with chemistry, migration testing and compliance, in a regulated industry such as food, packaging, medical devices or another manufacturing environment with high standards for quality, documentation and product safety.
• Understanding of regulatory complexity for international markets and food contact materials.
• Experience in a manufacturing company or a strong understanding of material flows, supplier collaboration and the value chain is an advantage.
