Lead Mechanical Engineer – Industrial & Energy Projects

About the role

Ramboll is growing its Mechanical & Plant Design business and is looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to expand its presence in industrial and energy markets. The role combines technical expertise with a commercial mindset: you will identify opportunities, develop client relationships, win work and lead multidisciplinary engineering assignments from concept through execution. It is based in Esbjerg, Copenhagen, Vejle or another location in Northern Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with existing and new clients and act as a trusted advisor to industrial and energy sector clients.
• Identify, mature and convert opportunities into projects, and support proposal development and tender preparation.
• Lead mechanical engineering studies, FEEDs, detailed design and specialist assignments.
• Manage project teams and coordinate delivery across Denmark and the Global Competence Centres.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the Mechanical & Plant Design services.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 8 to 10+ years of experience in industrial plants, energy infrastructure, gas systems, process plants, manufacturing, offshore energy or related fields.
• Proven track record in client engagement and business development, and experience leading engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent Danish, spoken and written.

Required skills

• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, piping, pressure equipment, rotating machinery or plant design.
• Commercial mindset and strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
