Embedded Linux Engineer and Consultant

About the role

Prevas is looking for an Embedded Linux Engineer and Consultant in Herlev. You will work with organisations ranging from global enterprises to startups, focusing on embedded Linux development, secure firmware and technical consulting. You will support clients in developing, updating and securing their embedded systems, especially in light of evolving security standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise embedded Linux software for various hardware platforms.
• Work closely with engineers and customers.
• Desirable: collaborate on hardware root-of-trust, secure boot and chain-of-trust implementations.
• Desirable: assist in system hardening, security configuration, encryption, access control and embedded patch management.

Required profile

• Background in software development and embedded systems, specifically with Linux.
• Ability to work with Linux in both user and kernel space.
• Structured, analytical and reliable approach to problem solving.
• Excellent English communication and writing skills, able to explain technical details clearly.

Required skills

• Linux development and embedded systems.
• Yocto.
• Desirable: cybersecurity, software lifecycle management or security architecture experience.
• Desirable: knowledge of security standards such as IEC 62443-4-1/2, IEC 81001-5-1, ETSI EN 303 645, EN 18031 and ISO 27001.
• Desirable: hands-on experience with secure bootloaders, encrypted storage, threat modelling (e.g. STRIDE) and system authentication.
