Commissioning Manager - Data Center Projects

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning process on a large, complex data center project in Denmark. You will act on behalf of the Project Management & Consultancy team on site, working closely with other business functions to meet regulatory compliance and budget requirements. The role requires daily on-site presence in Denmark and occasional travel within the EU for off-site factory testing and witnessing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily and weekly commissioning meetings internally, with vendors and the client
• Manage, deliver and obtain approval on commissioning documents such as test scripts and compliance statements
• Review and manage the receipt of commissioning documentation to achieve sign-off
• Manage the commissioning schedule and supervise the installation of new equipment, systems and facilities
• Inspect and verify the correct functioning of electrical, mechanical and environmental control systems
• Conduct tests to ensure operational efficacy and prepare commissioning reports, progress logs, issue logs and risk registers
• Close out commissioning risks and issues with contractors and vendors, verify critical system performance and approve project finalization once testing is successful

Required profile

• 10 years of experience in industrial equipment and systems commissioning and management
• Team attitude, self-motivated, willing to support other groups and projects
• Strong influencing and communication skills with clients, contractors, management and colleagues
• Ability to manage expectations, influence change and report progress accurately

Required skills

• Proficiency in mechanical and electrical equipment and systems
• Familiarity with control systems for critical infrastructure
• Experience in quality control and verification
• Familiarity with tools such as Google Drive and email
