Capex Project Controller

About the role

The Capex Project Controller owns the financial control of investment projects in CMC Development, from business case through execution and close-out. The role sits in the CMC Investment Project Office, reporting to the Senior Director, and works closely with project managers and directors. It is based onsite in Bagsværd.

Key responsibilities

• Own budgets, baselines, forecasts, cash-flow plans and monthly reporting for assigned Capex projects.
• Control commitments, actuals, accruals, contingencies, changes and estimate at completion so performance is always visible.
• Explain deviations, quantify risks and opportunities, and escalate material issues early.
• Support investment decisions, change control and gate approvals with robust analysis and constructive challenge.
• Ensure Capex governance and accounting compliance, and strengthen Capex-control standards, tools and reporting across CMC Development.
• Work with system developers to build data- and AI-enabled tools that combine schedule, procurement, SAP and forecast data into actionable management insights.

Required profile

• Relevant master's degree.
• At least 5 years of project-controlling experience in Capex or investment projects.
• Analytical, structured and commercially minded, with attention to detail and strong stakeholder skills.
• Fluent English and a valid work permit for Denmark.

Required skills

• Budgeting, forecasting, cost and cash-flow control, variance analysis and estimate-at-completion reporting.
• Knowledge of Capex governance and accounting, including IAS 16 and IAS 36.
• Advanced Excel and strong SAP experience.
• Power BI is useful but not essential.
