Business Controller – Road Maintenance & Infrastructure

About the role

Terranor, a listed Nordic infrastructure and road maintenance group active in Denmark, Sweden and Finland, is looking for an experienced, business-oriented Business Controller for a newly created position. You will act as the financial advisor to the heads of its six specialised business areas (road closures, contractor work, signage, snow clearing, cleaning contracts and drainage) and work closely with them on decisions about revenue, contracts, investments and efficiency. The role sits within a finance team of five people and offers collaboration across the three countries.

Key responsibilities

• Budgeting, forecasting and ongoing financial follow-up for the six business areas
• Analyse of revenue, contribution margin and costs at department, contract and project level
• Contract follow-up and profitability calculations
• Financial support for tenders and bids
• Develop KPIs, reporting and management decision basis
• Advise managers on investments, equipment, pricing and efficiency
• Contribute to month-end closing, periodisation and accounting quality checks
• Collaborate with finance and controlling functions in Sweden and Finland
• Take part in improvement projects on processes, systems and data quality

Required profile

• Solid financial background and several years of experience in controlling, business partnering or audit
• Relevant higher education such as cand.merc. or HD(R)
• Experience in a project, contract or service-oriented company is an advantage
• Fluent Danish and good written and spoken English
• Proactive, independent and able to challenge decisions based on analysis

Required skills

• Strong analytical skills and secure grasp of accounting, budgeting, forecasting and follow-up
• ERP and BI tools, and confident, efficient Excel
