Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join GoWish’s technology team and help build the world’s leading wish‑list and social shopping platform. You will work in a cross‑functional squad, collaborating with product, design and frontend colleagues to deliver high‑impact features for our gifting journey.

Key responsibilities

• Own backend features and services end‑to‑end, from design through production deployment.
• Design, implement and evolve GraphQL APIs and backend systems using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Make technical decisions that balance short‑term delivery with long‑term maintainability.
• Ensure code quality, readability and correctness; review pull requests and provide feedback.
• Integrate with internal and external APIs and manage data in SQL‑based databases.
• Identify technical gaps, propose improvements and act on them.

Required profile

• Strong experience with JavaScript or TypeScript development.
• Hands‑on experience building GraphQL APIs.
• Comfortable working with version control systems such as Git.
• Ability to work independently on complex tasks while staying aligned with the team.
• Proactive communication about progress, risks and trade‑offs.
