Assistant Professor of Molecular Cell Biology of DNA Repair

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Professor to lead research on the molecular cell biology of DNA repair within the “Genome integrity maintenance by liquid‑liquid phase separation and oscillations” project. The position combines independent research, teaching, and student supervision at the Department of Biology, Section for Functional Genomics, University of Copenhagen.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a research programme investigating liquid‑liquid phase separation in DNA repair.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in molecular biology and related subjects.
• Co‑supervise PhD and master’s students and mentor junior lab members.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners, including the Niels Bohr Institute.

Required profile

• PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biomedicine or a related field.
• Strong laboratory experience with a proven record of independent research.
• Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for teaching.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a collaborative, international team.
