AI-supported Robust Design Workflow Master Thesis

About the role

Coloplast’s Master Thesis Program offers final‑year master students the chance to combine academic research with hands‑on experience in a global healthcare company. You will work on an AI‑supported workflow to improve robust design processes within engineering analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Explore and prototype AI‑driven workflows that integrate CAD (SolidWorks), requirement management (Polarion), manufacturing data, tolerance chains and test results.
• Develop an initial concept for an integrated tool that provides transparency and overview across complex projects.
• Analyze fragmented data sets with AI to surface insights that support informed design decisions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders to align the solution with robust design, manufacturability and validation practices.

Required profile

• Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with SolidWorks for CAD modeling and integration.
• Strong statistical analysis skills, especially for evaluating tolerance chains and test data using tools such as SAS JMP.
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to incorporate innovative approaches into engineering processes.
