Teaching Assistant Professor – Companion Animal Cardiology

About the role

The University of Copenhagen’s Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences seeks a full‑time Teaching Assistant Professor to lead clinical teaching in Companion Animal Cardiology. The role starts on 1 November 2026 (or as soon as possible) and focuses on planning and delivering hands‑on cardiology education for veterinary and postgraduate master students.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and execute clinical teaching sessions in companion animal cardiology.
• Utilise the department’s high‑throughput referral service and state‑of‑the‑art imaging facilities for instructional purposes.
• Supervise veterinary students during practical examinations and case discussions.
• Collaborate with the cardiology group to ensure teaching aligns with current clinical practice.

Required profile

• Veterinary qualification with experience in companion animal cardiology.
• Ability to teach veterinary and postgraduate students in a clinical setting.
• Commitment to high‑quality, evidence‑based education.

Required skills

• Echocardiography, including 3D and strain imaging.
• Holter monitoring.
• Interventional cardiology procedures.
