Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Netcompany is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to help design and evolve its data center and enterprise network infrastructure. The role sits in the Network Team, part of the Infrastructure organization, and involves operating, maintaining and expanding secure, reliable networks in private cloud environments serving public and private sector customers. The position is based in Copenhagen or Aalborg.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, expand and design network solutions across data center and enterprise/campus environments
• Enhance network security through segmentation, policy-based routing, access control, SIEM and IPS
• Manage and optimize Fortinet firewalls, Cisco ASR routers, ACI switching fabric and related data center technologies
• Run automation and Infrastructure as Code initiatives with Python, Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, templates, pipelines and code reviews
• Work with security and automation principles, from core routing to WAN/edge, and collaborate with server, storage and security specialists

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, network engineering, information technology or a related field, or equivalent qualification
• Several years of experience in a similar networking role
• Full professional proficiency in Danish and English (written and spoken)
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance from the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET)

Required skills

• Solid understanding of scripting, automation and Infrastructure as Code
• Hands-on experience with firewalls and network security, preferably Fortinet and/or Cisco, plus enterprise routing/switching and LAN/WAN
