Applications Engineer I - Silvus (Copenhagen)

About the role

Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is looking for an Applications Engineer I to join the Sales Engineering team in its Copenhagen office. The role reports to the Senior Applications Engineer and works closely with customers and the Sales team to drive product development, define and test new products and features, and support customers and sales with technical analysis and systems integration. The position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, with up to 25% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Design and test complete solutions that solve unique technical problems.
• Define new products and features, and run product evaluations and field trials.
• Support customers and the sales team through troubleshooting, system integration, product recommendations and technical analysis, by phone, online and in person.
• Provide live support during standard European working hours (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM CET) and help the US team with off-hours escalations.
• Test and harden existing features through firmware and hardware changes, and support demonstrations, training and bug reproduction.
• Create and maintain customer-facing documentation such as manuals, guides, videos and application notes.
• Assist the RMA and Loaner teams with equipment recommendations and request vetting.
• Travel up to 25% to customer sites for demos, troubleshooting, integration and training.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related technical field.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, multitask and interact with cross-functional teams and customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel and work at customer sites; relocation is not provided.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spectrum analyzers, multimeters, signal generators and other RF and data network test equipment.
• PC office applications and mobile devices.
• Preferred: TCP/IP and networking, experience with IP radios/modems, knowledge of wireless and RF systems, Linux, and Python or C++.
