Senior Engineering Manager – Network Security Engineering

About the role

Maersk is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a global team delivering network security platforms as internal products. You will own the design, build, and L2/L3 operation of key security services, driving automation, reliability and cost efficiency across a highly distributed enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a global engineering team delivering network security platforms with clear ownership of reliability and operational outcomes.
• Own the product engineering lifecycle: roadmap execution, modernization, technical debt management and continuous improvement.
• Define and monitor service reliability indicators, driving data‑based improvements.
• Embed Infrastructure‑as‑Code and CI/CD practices for safe, automated network change delivery.
• Partner with network operations and architecture to align standards, enable self‑service onboarding and scalable policy governance.
• Manage cost leadership and total cost of ownership for core services while maintaining service level objectives.
• Develop engineering talent, foster an inclusive culture and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• 15+ years of enterprise network security engineering experience in global, multi‑vendor environments, including senior leadership.
• Proven record leading build‑and‑run services that combine engineering, operations and automation.
• Strong product‑led mindset for internal platforms with clear service contracts and customer‑outcome focus.
• Effective stakeholder leadership across infrastructure and cyber‑security teams.

Required skills

• Deep experience with NGFW platforms (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco).
• Familiarity with firewall assurance tools (Firemon, Tufin).
• Experience with web security gateways (Bluecoat, Websense, F5, Zscaler, Prisma, etc.).
• Expertise in AAA/NAC (TACACS+, RADIUS, NAC) and identity integrations.
• Hands‑on proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code, CI/CD, Python, NETCONF/RESTCONF/YANG.
• Automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, AIOps.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust concepts and enterprise migration considerations.
